About the job
This position is needed as Twilio continues to grow rapidly. As the Senior Manager, Accounts Payable, you will oversee Twilio’s global Accounts Payable function, leading operational execution and process excellence across vendor disbursements, expense management, and AP support. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of International Accounting, you will play a critical role in scaling our finance operations, driving automation, ensuring compliance, and supporting both organic and inorganic growth.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll
- Lead the daily operations of global Accounts Payable, vendor disbursements, expense management, and credit card reconciliations.
- Manage and mentor a high performing AP team, setting clear KPIs, performance benchmarks, and professional development plans.
- Oversee month-end close activities for AP, including sub-ledger to GL reconciliations, expense accruals, and balance sheet flux analysis.
- Standardize end-to-end Operating Procedures and keep detailed process documentation up to date across all entities.
- Coordinate all internal and external audit requirements, ensuring timely delivery of audit requests and PBC schedules.
- Partner with Procurement, FP&A, Legal, and Tax teams to optimize purchase-to-pay (P2P) workflows and vendor onboarding.
- Resolve complex vendor escalations and internal payment queries while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships.

*Required
- Minimum of 12 years with at least 5 years in managing AP managers in a large US multinational.
- Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and strong proficiency in enterprise ERPs (e.g., Oracle, Workday, Navan).
- Solid hands on knowledge of US operations, US GAAP, SOX controls, and multi-currency disbursements, alongside international tax compliance.
- Excellent team management, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills to partner effectively with global stakeholders.
Desired
- Experience managing high-volume US vendor portfolios, 1099 compliance/withholding, and leading automation or RPA initiatives in a global SaaS environment.
- Strong knowledge of both US and International tax/statutory requirements (GST/TDS).
Location
This role will be remote, and based in India. (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra, Delhi)
